Laudomia Codussi is a young woman tormented by visions of brutal
murders occurring in the sinister alleyways of Venice in the days leading up to the infamous revelry of Carnevale.

On a lush odyssey through the grand palaces, decadent salons and dark canals of Venice, Laudomia’s quest to unmask the killer becomes a remarkable journey of self-discovery that has devastating consequences.
“I had a great time bringing to life the sumptuous world of Carnevale," the author admits.

"One of my favourite characters is an old apothecary with a talent for concocting opium blends.  If he was mixing this book I’d like to think the recipe would be something like:

a dollop of gothic suspense, a generous splash of historical thriller, a dusting of doomed love and blood . . . lots of blood.”
